We are currently hiring the positions of Content & Communications Coordinator and Sales Coordinator.

Full-time, Content & Communications Coordinator

Reports to: Executive Director

Summary: Share the Mt. Pleasant experience with visitors and community members through digital story-telling and implement multichannel marketing and communications efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, execution, tracking and optimization of assigned marketing programs, campaigns and/or advertising projects; emphasis on social media, email, digital ads, print ads and website content.
  • Oversee all digital marketing programs with the goal of maximizing impact/ROI.
  • Prepare, maintain and distribute marketing materials and communication pieces (i.e. emails, newsletters, website content, guides, brochures, etc.) across platforms/channels for assigned Marketing program(s); ensure Meet Mt. Pleasant brand message is integrated and consistent across departments.
  • Manage all MPACVB social media channels; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
  • Maintain and update the CVB’s website.
  • Manage all Meet here social media channels; Facebook.
  • Attend special events throughout the area to capture footage and photography to be used in social media activities and various web platforms.
  • Develop and maintain social media content plan schedules and reports.
  • Monitor and make strategic decisions for CVB content based on analytics and other research avenues.
  • Assist in assigned budget tracking and provide reporting to the Executive Director.
  • Collaborate with third-parties on various digital marketing programs, campaigns and advertising projects.
  • Assist in development, execution and tracking of public relations efforts (i.e. media pitches, press releases, media lists, media mentions, etc.).
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and best marketing practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes.
  • The Content & Communications Coordinator‘s duties are not limited to the statements mentioned above; the list is intended to describe the general nature and levels of work being performed as assigned for this job; additional responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, media or related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to two years experience in marketing, social media marketing, or related area.
  • Experience with marketing software and tools preferred (i.e. Google Analytics, Facebook Business Manager, Facebook Ads Manager, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have attention to detail and effective planning, organization, prioritization and project/time management skills to meet deadline driven timelines.
  • General knowledge of the Mt. Pleasant area as it relates to tourism (i.e. attractions, lodging properties, dining, etc.)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with MPACVB team

The Mt. Pleasant Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (MPACVB) is a non-profit destination marketing and management organization for Isabella County.

Full Time, Sales Coordinator

Reports to: Executive Director

Summary: Provide exceptional service and support to meeting and sport event planners, organizations, and venues by cultivating new and maintaining existing relationships, and collaborating with partners to promote Isabella County as a destination for meetings and recreation sport tourism.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Soliciting, booking, and servicing the meetings and sports markets that generate visitor spending and promotional exposure for Isabella County
  • Responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with association, government, corporate meeting planners and sports rights holders to serve as a knowledge base for meeting planners and sports rights holders and act as a community liaison
  • Assist in the research and implementation of marketing and communication strategies that promote the Mt. Pleasant area as a destination for overnight stays, meetings, and sports events
  • Manage RFP’s and maintain Simpleview for tracking both markets
  • Maintain a highly engaged working relationship and knowledge of the hotels, meeting facilities, sports facilities, attractions, businesses, events, and services available in the Isabella County area
  • Attend tradeshows and other events to help increase CVB promotion and awareness
  • Assist with planning and implementing events, partnerships, etc.
  • Assist with promotional efforts for the golf market in Isabella County
  • Assist CVB team with marketing strategies, budget development, and overall strategic director for the CVB.
  • Maintain a comprehensive calendar of events taking place in Isabella County
  • Evaluate and report on sport event performance and economic impact
  • Evaluate and report on meetings RFP’s, booked business and lost business
  • Organize sports commission meetings and (FAM) Tour for the meetings market

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, hospitality, event planning or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • One to two year experience in marketing, sales, business or related area
  • Excellent communication skills and knowledge of office software, including CRM systems
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple assignments
  • Willing and able to work with and be accessible to clients, sometimes evenings and/or weekends
  • Knowledge of the Mt. Pleasant area and regional sports market preferred
  • Must be willing to travel, have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
