Special Olympics Michigan (SOMI) Summer Games – July 16-17, 2021

Special Olympics Michigan’s largest sporting event of the year is BACK! The State Summer Games will look a little different this year as they will feature in-person and virtual events. 

Athletes participate in up to ten types of competition including athletics, bocce, bowling, gymnastics, horseshoes, power lifting, swimming, weightlifting, volleyball, developmental athletics and motor activities training program. 

July 16 features athletic events as a qualifier for the 2022 USA Games. Virtual athletics, fitness, gymnastics, and developmental athletics will be offered that day. 

July 17 will feature bocce events. 

Where are Michigan Special Olympics summer games?

The games are typically held on Central Michigan University’s (CMU) campus at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.
